For ordinary V-belts, if m = 0.3, the average mv = 0.51 = 1.7m . Under other conditions being the same, the working capacity of V-belt drive is much improved than that of flat-belt drive.
Narrow V-belt drive is a V-belt drive that has been widely used internationally in recent years. The load-bearing layer of the belt adopts synthetic fiber rope or steel wire rope. The height to section width ratio of ordinary V-belt is 0.7, and the ratio of narrow V-belt height to section width is 0.9. The narrow V is available in SPZ, SPA, SPB and SPC models, the structure and related dimensions have been standardized. Narrow V-belt with high load-carrying capacity and low hysteresis loss. The maximum allowable speed of the narrow V-belt drive can reach 40~50m/s, which is suitable for the drive with high power and compact structure.
Combined V-belt drive
It features several identical V-belts joined together at the top to form a single V-belt. It overcomes the uneven force between the two belts of the ordinary V-belt, reduces the lateral vibration of each single belt drive, and thus increases the life of the belt. The disadvantage is that it requires high manufacturing and installation accuracy.
